Tired of having no place to kick it with your friends? Do you feel you are the only African American gay male in Sacramento? Are you tired of having to go to Oakland or San Francisco to socialize with other young Black gay youth? Well, look no more!

The youth of the Sonshine Project invite you to participate in Sacramento's only HIV prevention project specifically for African American young men who love men ages 16 to 21 years old. This project was designed by and for us!

• Great way to meet other males! Come kick it with other young African American same gender loving men who are interested in discussing our issues. Learn how to protect yourself against HIV/AIDS and STD, listen to house music, and eat hot pizza!!!!

Our workshops are offered Wednesday 6:00pm-8:30pm and Saturday 3:00pm-5:30pm. Please call to schedule a seat inside session. Participants must attend two sessions to receive $40 gift certificate.

Statistics:

• Approximately one in four sexually active young adult ages 15 to 24 contracts an STI each year.
• In 2004 the CDC estimated that more then 18,000 young people, ages 13 to 24, were living with HIV/AIDS.
• In 2004 African American  represented 61% of HIV/AIDS cases among 13 to 24 year olds.
• Only 19% of teens ages 15 to 19 reported that they have ever been tested for HIV, versus 44% of young adults ages 20 to 24.
