Golden
Rule Services was created with the intent to reduce disparities
within People of Color communities and make available
services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate.
To date, Golden Rules Services has served over 4000 local
community members. Some of Golden Rules Services’
referral sources have included the Attorney General’s
Office, Sacramento Youth Peer Court, Sacramento County
Probation, the Sacramento City Unified School District,
Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services
and the Neighborhood Accountability Board. Golden Rules
Services, based on trends analysis in People of Color
communities and Healthy People 2000 data, identified the
following programmatic areas to address:

and their families with one-on-one and family behavioral
interventions that are accessible, affordable and innovative.
Golden Rules Services uses a variety of nontraditional,
holistic and culturally competent individual and group
level interventions.
Clients are initially administered a psychosocial assessment
and later provided an individualized treatment plan to
identify short and long term goals. Clients are provided
with a Golden Rules Services crisis line phone number
that provides seven days a week accessibility. To compliment
the program, community and social service referrals are
provided. Feedback from clients has suggested our nontraditional
approaches have been more effective than other traditional
counseling services. |
