Golden
Rule Services was created with the intent to reduce disparities
within People of Color communities and make available
services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate.
To date, Golden Rules Services has served over 4000 local
community members. Some of Golden Rules Services’
referral sources have included the Attorney General’s
Office, Sacramento Youth Peer Court, Sacramento County
Probation, the Sacramento City Unified School District,
Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services
and the Neighborhood Accountability Board. Golden Rules
Services, based on trends analysis in People of Color
communities and Healthy People 2000 data, identified the
following programmatic areas to address:

of the increasing and alarming rates of disease among
People of Color communities, primary and secondary prevention
and health-promoting efforts are priority program areas

has been committed to reducing the spread of HIV within
the African American same gender loving community by offering
group level, multi-session interventions, HIV antibody
testing, online HIV outreach, bar outreach, conducting
a needs assessment, and developing HIV risk reduction
materials. |
